Overview
Overview of the Temperature Sensor / Temperature Switch Sensor
Temperature Sensors and Temperature Switch Sensors monitor engine or process temperature and output a resistance or switch signal. That supports indication on the dash and, where a WK contact is fitted, a warning or shutdown input if temperature crosses a set point. Indication Instruments units are built for oil and water (coolant) service in harsh conditions. Thread options include metric, BS, and taper so the same sensor family can fit global ports. They work with 12 V and 24 V gauge systems. Unlike mechanical capillary temperature gauges, these senders need the vehicle electrical system and a matching gauge curve.
