DEF Level Sensor
Overview

Overview of the DEF Level Sensor

DEF Level Sensors, also specified as DEF tank sensors or SCR tank sensors, monitor Diesel Exhaust Fluid volume in the tank. Correct level, and often temperature, keeps dosing available so the emissions system can run without unexpected empty-tank stops. Reed-switch sensing gives discrete, repeatable level points. Built-in temperature measurement supports SCR performance across climates. Urea-resistant construction is required because DEF is corrosive to many common metals and elastomers.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

DEF Level Sensors from Indication Instruments (Veethree) are Diesel Exhaust Fluid Level Sensors / AdBlue Level Sensors / UREA Level Sensors that measure tank level for SCR systems.

The dosing system needs a reliable level (and usually temperature) so DEF is available and the emissions system is not run dry.

Reed-switch based level sensing, with inbuilt temperature measurement and optional quality measurement.

The sensors serve vehicles that use J1939 / SCR architectures. Confirm the electrical interface of the specific automotive DEF sensor part (hardwired vs module/CAN) at enquiry.

DEF feed and return can sit in the header assembly, with filter integration, plus SAE 5-hole or bayonet mounting.
