Mechanical Pressure Gauges
Overview

Overview of the Mechanical Pressure Gauges

Mechanical pressure gauges have long been used for engine oil pressure, air-brake cylinder pressure, and intake manifold pressure. Switch gauges add a contact so an engine-protection circuit can act if pressure falls below a set point. They operate without vehicle power and without an electronic sender interface. A printed dial is easy to read and keeps a classic instrument look. If a unit fails, replacement is typically a single gauge rather than a full instrument cluster.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Mechanical pressure gauges from Indication Instruments (Veethree) display pressure with a Bourdon-tube movement. They do not need electrical power.

Mechanical air pressure gauges, mechanical oil pressure gauges, boost gauges, vacuum gauges, switch gauges, and dual pressure gauges.

A switch gauge shows pressure and includes a contact used by an engine-protection or warning circuit if pressure falls below the set point.

Single gauges commonly 52 mm, 60 mm, and 66 mm. Dual gauges 52 mm, 60 mm, and 80 mm. Threads include M10, M12, 1/8" NPT, 1/8" BSP, 3/8" UNF, and 1/4" NPT.

High accuracy over 20% to 80% of full scale.
