Overview of the L4C3
The L4C3 Instrument Cluster is built for fast reading: precise analogue dials for primary values and an 800 × 480 TFT for system data, messages, and graphical status. It meets current vehicle electronics and monitoring needs without dropping traditional gauge readability. The construction is intended for tough commercial and off-highway duty. Compared with L4A and H4A, L4C3 is the TFT instrument cluster in the four-gauge family: colour graphics instead of a monochrome EBN panel, with a smaller hardwired input count and dual TE connectors. The L4C3 from Indication Instruments is the colour-display option for cabs that need higher visibility than a monochrome display cluster.

Four Sonceboz stepper motors drive the analogue instruments for essential parameters. The 5-inch TFT (800 × 480) shows vehicle data and alert messages in colour. CAN 2.0B with J1939 support links this CAN Bus instrument cluster to vehicle ECUs.

Four analogue inputs and two digital inputs cover core sensors and discrete signals. A multi-tone buzzer marks warnings. Firmware updates run through a UDS boot loader so the automotive instrument cluster can take software changes without a hardware swap.
