Ensure Driving Safety and Convenience with Digital Automotive Gauges
Gauges in different vehicles display information about the vehicle’s varied systems, ensuring reliable, safe and convenient driving. Available in different shapes, designs and colors, these are located on the dashboard behind the steering wheel and are crucial for proper automobile functioning. Most common gauges include tachometer, speedometer, temperature gauge, voltmeter, ammeter, pressure gauge, fuel gauge and others used to measure the pressure, speed, fuel, dimensions, air, temperature and distance of a vehicle. These instruments feature a needle or indicator to show required measurements.
In simple words, gauges are sensors or dials that help drivers monitor different vehicle systems and learn about their performance status or condition before taking off on the road. Indication Instruments Limited in Faridabad is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of automobile and construction equipment gauges, known for their quality and efficacy. We use the best of advanced technologies to manufacture and supply two primary gauge variants in the market, digital and analog gauges.

You can use the A-pillar, dashboard or the console on your vehicle to mount our gauges, allowing for complete personalization of the vehicle’s interior. Because this, our gauges serve the practical purpose of providing constant view of the car’s vital performance metrics’. Our gauges are suitable for all cards, regardless of their type and model. Common varieties that we manufacture and supply throughout India include:
Speedometer
One of the most common types of dashboard gauges, our electronic speedometers indicate the current speed of a vehicle while traveling. Like digital clocks, they clearly indicate vehicle speed or feature a needle for the same purpose. Our speedometers reflect vehicle speed from the transmission output shaft speed sensor, which is further converted by the vehicle’s computer through an algorithm displaying proper speed.
Note that the size of the tires of a vehicle may change speedometer efficiency. For example, in vehicles featuring larger tires, the speedometer may display slower speed than the actual speed. Our electronic speedometers in modern vehicles can often be calibrated to match or accommodate varied tire sizes. However, this calibration typically needs to be done using special tools, such as diagnostic scanners.
Exclusive attributes of our programmable, electronic speedometers are as follows:
- Configurable pulses in the field
- High accuracy stepper motor based pointer movement.
- Provision of setting required accuracy in the field.
- 12/24V battery voltage compatible
- EMI/EMC compliant
- Available in varied casing sizes, like 80mm, 85mm, 100mm and 140mm.
- Trip odometer reading available.
- Different designs include spade-type terminal and stud.
Fuel Gauge
Located on the dashboard of every vehicle, our fuel gauges monitor the amount of gas remaining in the vehicle’s fuel tank. Featuring two important parts- the indicator specifying fuel level and the sender unit, the indicator in these gauges reads “F” when the tank is completely full and “E” when it is empty.
Connected to a component within the fuel tank, our fuel gauges indicate whether the fuel pressure is too low or too high through a digital bar or stick instead of the traditional gallons measurement. The needle does not move constantly when the vehicle is moving because the gauge uses a system that averages out the reading in live time, similar to a percentage.
In case, the fuel pressure reading is not proper, it indicates several issues in the vehicle’s fuel system, including faulty fuel pump, clogged fuel filter or malfunctioning pressure regulator. Conversely, if the pressure reading is too low, it indicates a clogged filter, fuel line blockage or broken regulator. Weak fuel pumps may also be the reason, but we recommend investigating and eliminating other possibilities before considering fuel pimp replacement, which can be an expensive affair.
Most common fuel gauges available at Indication Instruments Limited include:
- Digital meter
- Shut-off Gauge that measures temperature, pressure, voltage and fuel.
- Fuel DEF gauges or Adblue Gauges
Their specifications include:
- Plug and play connectors
- Provision of low fuel level warning
- Engine running hours display
- Fuel level indication through BarsFuel.
- IP65 and ISO16750-2 compliant
Temperature Gauges
Our temperature gauges indicate engine coolant temperature in degrees. A thermistor, attached to the thermostat or engine block housing, offers required information, which is then displayed on the vehicle dashboard. We manufacture and supply both mechanical and digital temperature gauges for modern vehicles. Our mechanized temperature gauges work in the same way as thermometers, with the indicator needle displaying approximate temperature. When temperature rises, the needle or gauge’s dial moves to show engine coolant temperature. Conversely, our digital temperature gauges offer live readings by the use of sensors that read the engine’s temperature and display the same using the vehicle’s indicator.
When you start your vehicle, these gauges will first display cold engine coolant with the temperature rising slowly. At this stage, it is crucial to turn on the heater to blow cold air until the gauge moves away from a lower to higher temperature. Once at higher temperature, you can turn on the heater to receive warm air. If your vehicle signals rising temperature, it is better to pull over and allow the engine to cool down because continuing to drive with an overheated engine may cause permanent vehicle damage.
Keeping a close eye on our temperature gauges is crucial to ensure the engine does not overheat. In case the gauges indicate significantly higher temperature, especially when it is not very hot outside, we recommend checking the cooling system promptly.
At Indication Instruments Limited, we also excel in the manufacture and supply of oil temperature gauges that monitor the vehicle’s oil temperature. The indicator in these gauges allow drivers to keep a close watch on the engine oil’s temperature, ensuring the oil does not break down too quickly, causing more damage or wear to the engine and its varied parts.
These gauges remain active as long as the car is running. Remember, the perfect temperature for your vehicle’s engine oil is always a few degrees higher than the vehicle’s coolant temperature. If the oil in the vehicle’s engine gets too hot, it may cause major problems with your vehicle, including engine break down. Therefore, we recommend changing engine oil regularly to prevent it from reaching excessive temperatures.
Tachometer
Main function served by our tachometers is displaying the engine speed in revolutions per minute or RPMs. Since transmissions have several gears, the car speed does not match engine speed and transmission gears help convert engine speed into performance and acceleration. Our electronic tachometers are useful in pulling trailers or when going up and down steep grades.
Information provided by our tachometers is useful for vehicles with standard shift transmission with drivers willing to shift at the optimum RPM for best acceleration or fuel economy. Our tachometers usually show single-digit markings, like 1, 2, 3 and so on with indicators saying RPMx1000. This means that you can multiple the reading by 1000 to get actual RPM. So, if he needle points to 2, it means the engine is running at 2000 RPM.
One of the least used vehicle gauges, the electronic tachometer readings are crucial in vehicles that require manual transmission. These help drivers know the right time to change gears. Monitoring tachometers properly also helps maintain acceleration and fuel efficiency while also earning if the engine is pushed roughly. We recommend never racing the engine too fast that the tachometer moves into the red zone as this can cause large scale engine damage.
Important features of our electronic tachometers are as follows:
- Compatible with 12/24V battery voltage
- High accuracy stepper motor based pointer movement.
- Provision of integrated LCD screen for displaying engine running hours.
- Pulse configurability possible in the field.
- Available in varied casings sizes, like 52mm, 80mm, 85mm and 100mm.
- Trip odometer reading also available.
- EMC/EMI compliant
- Available in spade type terminal and studs design.
Voltmeter
Our voltmeter offers information about a vehicle’s battery health by measuring the battery’s system voltage constantly. Equipped in most modern cars, our electronic voltmeters are easier to work with and can easily indicate the efficiency of a vehicle’s charging system. if the voltmeter lights up in any condition, it indicates that something is wrong with the vehicle’s electrical system.
Most modern cars feature 12-volt systems with the engine-off voltage of a fully charged battery being 12.5 volts. When the engine is active, the charging system takes over and the voltmeter reading is approximately 14 to 14.5 volts. This voltage reading may drop if the lights, wipers, rear defogger and heater are turned on when the engine is idle. The battery provides current if the voltage goes down below 12.5 but if this continues; the battery may run out, making it impossible to start the vehicle once it shuts off. Similarly, the voltmeter may fail if the voltage exceeds 15 volts.
Pressure Gauges
At Indication Instruments Limited, our oil pressure gauges measure engine oil pressure in pounds per square inch. This is an important function considering that oil is responsible for running all important vehicle parts. Measuring oil pressure is just as critical as measuring blood pressure in a human being. Running an engine with no oil pressure even for less than a minute may easily destroy it. Therefore, it is crucial to check the oil level gauge constantly and take proper measures if it shows reading below 20 in idle engine condition. Remember, low readings may be due to worn-out or leaking engine parts that need to fixed or replaced promptly to prevent expensive engine damage.
When driving, the pressure gauge located on your vehicle must settle in the middle approximately after 20 minutes. If this does not happen and it keeps rising to the top, it indicates excessive oil pressure due to clogged oil delivery lines or pressure release valve. In case of extreme pressure, turn off the vehicle engine immediately to prevent oil filter rupture.
When going for our oil pressure gauges, keep in mind that they do not monitor oil level in the engine but the pressure at which oil is pushed through the engine. Also, oil pressure may vary and can easily change based on the engine’s RPMs, so our oil pressure gauges are at no fault here.
Ammeter
An ammeter from Indication Instruments Limited measures battery current, indicating negative when battery is depleted and positive in case of fully-charged battery. After starting, our ammeter reads high positive amperage to replenish battery. If it reads more than 10 or 20 amps, even with the wipers, lights and other electrical components off, it indicates weak battery that requires immediate attention.
